We LOVED our date night at Bristol & our server Gary was amazing. The food was cooked to perfection, the service was incredible and the ambiance was exactly what we were looking for. We will definitely be back and asking for Gary again.
We enjoyed our time at this unexpected treat. The food was good, but sides were a bit cold. The broccoli in particular was a bit hard. The seafood was yummy ; plus the salmon and trout were really good. That said, we loved the ambience of the spot. The host and the server were attentive.Parking was up the street a bit, but the area is a fun and lively place to walk off a really, really decent meal.
We went with friends to celebrate their wedding anniversary. They had made a reservation in Open Table and listed it as an anniversary dinner, but there was never any mention of the anniversary by our waiter, no champagne toast as I've seen in other reviews nor any special dessert. Our waiter seemed a bit frazzled all evening - we didn't see him much, but when we did it was awkward at best. My husband ordered a smoked old fashioned, and it was overly sweet sort of like syrup and was way too smokey. Appetizers were good - we had the lobster pizza - nothing to write home about; probably would try something else next time. I had clam chowder which was good, and then scallops for dinner. Scallops were good but overcooked in my opinion. Our table was in the middle of the dining room which was fine. The bar area looked inviting - thinking maybe a table in the bar area next time. Yes, there will be another visit, and hopefully we will get a different waiter next time!! UPDATE: Bristol management is awesome! They reached out as a reply to this review and then we exchanged private emails, and I just have to say they have been nothing short of great to work with and our friends will be celebrating their anniversary at Bristol in the future. I'm looking forward to our return as well! If you're in the Kansas City area stop by Bristol for a great evening!!
I love Bristol. We have been a few times, but just recently came for my birthday. The waiter was one we had seen before and he is so polite and professional, I wish I got his name. Their food is amazing. The biscuits served at the beginning are to die for, but the food is so good you can't load up on them. The place is usually pretty busy, but it doesn't ever seem to loud. On my last visit I am in a wheelchair due to surgery, and it was easy to get in and out the front door. The door to the bathroom is extremely heavy though so luckily someone was available to open it for me.
We were staying downtown for the weekend and my husband was nice enough to make a reservation at this wonderful place. We were quickly seated upon our arrival to the restaurant. Our waiter, Harold, quickly came over to take our orders. He was so helpful as well as extremely polite throughout our meal. We started with the crispy rice sushi. It consisted of spicy tuna, crispy rice, Wasabi mayo, and sesame ginger soy. It was absolutely delicious. For entrees, we had the George's Bank sea scallops and a swordfish dish on the nightly specials menu. Both dishes tasted great. The ambiance of this restaurant is perfect, with dim lighting, quiet conversation, and an open glass kitchen. The bar area is also beautiful. We would definitely return when in town.
Excellent service!!! Better service than antler room the night before. Great ambiance. Great food! There are many options to choose from. Then you have the specials. The drinks were all good and well balanced. Carrot cake was good and I don't usually care for it much. There was an upcharge on the carrot cake which was a surprise but it was fine. The lava cake isn't included in the 3 course meal part of the dessert. Sisters got the Mahi Mahi which needed some sauce/ flavoring. Got bourbon sauce on the side. My other sister got the salmon which after sending it back to be cooked well done it was delicious. They will cook it on the rarer/ medium side automatically. Very cute.
Went here recently for a power lunch. This was probably only my second or third time here. The ambiance and service was great. Our server was attentive and helpful with any questions we had concerning the menu. Really love the biscuits and butter that they bring out. I started off with the clam chowder. It's hearty and light at the same time and really goes well with the oyster crackers that they give you. I could have eaten two bowls of this. For the main course I went with the trout, mashed potatoes and asparagus. The trout was flavorful and moist but you'll want to be careful with this dish as it can have small bones. They didn't tell me that beforehand. Go with the salmon if you don't want to worry about bones. Overall though a very solid dish and went well with the sides that I chose. We got carrot cake to go since we were already full but their carrot cake is delicious! Very moist and it's a huge slice. Highly recommend.
Met up with some of my co-workers here for HH, and yes if you're wondering I was here the night before but at a different location. Lol! Drinks of course my fave a lavender drop, and a French 75. Food shrimp tacos 10/10, and oysters 10/10. I cannot pronounce the name of the oyster but omg!! They were SOoo good! S/o to Brittany the bartender who recommended them to me! and the chefs who was ok with me having them due to them not being added on the menu yet. If you're in the area during HH give this place a go, great selections for drinks and apps.
